Sadness and Jealousy around Christmas

Postby Tom » Thu Dec 29, 2005 3:40 pm

To everyone: I think that when someone has an idea this site is ready to bash on that person not everyone but a select few do that when someone asks something about a Tucker they are talked to like they are dumb, when someone has a dream someone is ready to say forget about it it wont work, when someone works on a car someone is ready to say they are a cheat or a scammer or they arent doing it right people who have worked on cars make mistakes Preston made mistakes everyone does so why do people talk down to them when they do when the person talking crap has made a mistake or 2 in there life no one is perfect. Thats what is sad. It seems the people talking all the crap are jealous thats where the sadness and jealousy comefrom around christmas. Members of the club some not all think they are gods gift to Tucker cars which they are not no one is except the people who worked on the cars in the factory at some time and the god of Tucker cars is Preston himself without him there would be no Tucker cars we love so much. Just think how sad it will be when the next person decides to bash someones work, idea, dreams etc. when everyone really knows there the jealous fool.

As someone once said, "The internet's designed for people to slander one another anonomously and exchange porn." Which pretty well sums it up. There's tons of message boards out there with the sole purpose of giving people a place to bad mouth one another.

Heck, on some of the fan sites devoted to this or that celebrity of the moment, if you post a comment like, "I just didn't think that [insert celebrity's name here] did a very good job in their latest movie/album/TV show/whatever." You're banned from the board and people say the nastiest things about you that you can imagine.

At least on this board, things are kept civil.

We have that to thank from Tuckercar, the administrator of this board. Thanks Joe, you do a great job. I would also like to say hello to Walter and Richard, we have had some discussions in the past and enjoy each and every post. Richard, still having problems logging on? Just post as a Guest but put in your screen name without the last digit (there are times I post a quick reply and just type in ehartman, seems to work). And Walter, are you keeping tabs on the restoration project of 1006? Is that a 63-64 Mercury Montclair interior I see inside of your car (I had one of those cars in the 80's but had to get rid of it because the factory color “Salmon” had faded to pink and the wife did not care for it LOL). Anyway I am looking forward to the January Issue of TUCKER TOPICS to see where the next convention is to be held. For those of you who visit this board, if the convention is anyway near where you reside you should consider attending. The last one in Chicago was our first and we had a fantastic time and everyone was so friendly. Well wishing everyone a great 2006 (it has to be better than 2005 right?).

Eric, that was a nice "end of the year" commentary. We all love the Tucker site and enjoy reading it and putting our "2 cents worth in". As far as the Mercury interior in my car the only thing that is Mercury is the dash. I had the seats recovered and stitched to look just like the old Tucker seats. We didn't want to take the car over and leave it at the upholstery shop so Nicki and I took them out and put them in the pickup and dropped them off. A few days later they called and said the original upholstery was still under the cover on the back seat. We rushed over to see. It was moth eaten but it was there. We carefully took it off and folded it off and now it's in my Tucker Memobelia room. It has the push button on the inside of the doors that are original, even down to the glove compartment in the passenger door. As far as 1006 is concerned, it is a beautiful completely restored Tucker in it's own right. You probably are referring to 1003. I'm sure Mike at Classic Muscle will get it together and it will be a nice car. That car was really rough and I guarantee you he is earning his money. We will follow 1003s saga through 2006, I'm sure. Everybody have a great new year! Walter
